We met up with our very own Dr. J. Jacobs and his team in Kingston, Jamaica on our first mission trip. Dr. Jacobs and his team have been going to Kingston for three years now. This year, besides our donations that were given, the Larry King Cardiac Foundation (LKCF), helped sponsor the trip along with the Carrabin Heart Menders Association (CHMA), and the Conginatal Heart Institue of Florida (CHIF). The teamed helped 18 children in 10 days. The 2009 Mission was the most successful ever.

1. They operated on 14 patients of a higher level of difficulty than ever before. (In 2007, they operated on 7 patients and in 2008 they operated on 9 patients).
2. They performed 4 Diagnostic Cardiac Catheterizations with Angiography.
3. They performed 4 Electrophysiology Studies (EPS). These were the first EP Studies ever done in Jamaica.
4. They held a Full day teaching course with 164 attendees (2/3 nurses and 1/3 physicians). This course was called "The First Annual Larry King - CHIF - CHMA - Bustamante Teaching Program in Pediatric Cardiac Disease".

Happy Heart's Party at Vinoy Park

The Happy Heart Party is an annual reunion for kids who have been a part of the heart programs at All Children's Hospital, their parents, and the staff who treat them. The Happy Heart Party features fun, food, and entertainment for the kids.
