Jamaica Mission Trip

We met up with our very own Dr. Jacobs and his team (3rd year in a row for them) in Kingston, Jamaica on our first mission trip. Besides our donations this year, the Larry King Cardiac Foundation (LKCF), Caribbean Heart Menders Association (CHMA), and the Conginatal Heart Institue of Florida (CHIF) helped sponsor the trip. The team helped 18 children in 10 days and the 2009 mission was the most successful thus far.

1. They operated on 14 patients of a higher level of difficulty than ever before. (2007 - operated on 7 patients, 2008 - operated on 9 patients).
2. They performed 4 Diagnostic Cardiac Catheterizations with Angiography.
3. They performed 4 Electrophysiology Studies (EPS) - the first EP Studies ever done in Jamaica.
4. They held "The First Annual Larry King - CHIF - CHMA - Bustamante Teaching Program in Pediatric Cardiac Disease", a full day teaching course attended by 164 medical personnel (2/3 nurses and 1/3 physicians).

Happy Heart's Party at Vinoy Park

The Happy Heart Party is an annual reunion for kids who have been a part of the heart programs at All Children's Hospital, their parents, and the staff who treat them. The Happy Heart Party features fun, food, and entertainment for the kids.
